Originally from Colombia, she came to the United States alone in 2023, fleeing threats she faced as a journalist. Although she has chosen to keep many personal details private, she’s allowed us to share the heart of her story—a journey defined by strength, perseverance, and grace. 

Each client that comes through our program has a story that matters. But some stories stay with us long after a client’s last day in our program.

On World Homeless Day, we reflect on the impact of homelessness and the vital services that help individuals transition from the streets to safe, stable housing. One such service is our Recuperative Care program—a bridge between homelessness and home.
