Leadership in Action: Board Chair Patrick Powers Visits Our Sacramento Community Care Campus

At Whole Person Care Clinic, every new campus represents an opportunity to expand access to compassionate, whole-person care while strengthening the communities we serve. Recently, our Board Chair, Patrick Powers, visited our newest Sacramento campus to tour the facility, meet with staff, and experience firsthand the incredible work taking place each day.
One of Patrick's first impressions was the potential of the Sacramento campus—not only as a welcoming space for clients, but as a model for future growth. He recognized the thoughtful planning, construction, and collaboration required to transform a facility into a Community Care Campus, noting that each new location provides valuable lessons that help strengthen future expansion efforts.
What a great facility and opportunity for growth. Transitioning a facility into a Community Care Campus requires considerable construction and tenant improvement design forethought and execution. WPCC is learning from each new campus it deploys.
While the facility itself left a strong impression, it was the people who truly stood out.
Throughout his visit, Patrick observed a team that was positive, energized, and deeply connected to the organization's mission. From leadership to frontline staff, he saw individuals who share a genuine commitment to improving the lives of the clients they serve every day.
The staff were positive, energetic and seemed in tune with the mission of the organization. The experience of working in a nonprofit with the clinic clients really seemed to resonate with the staff and leadership. A shared experience of an important mission by all involved was observed.
As he spent time in Sacramento, Patrick also recognized the tremendous opportunity to continue growing alongside the community. He noted the clear need for accessible, coordinated care and expressed optimism about the partnerships being built with local healthcare providers and government agencies.
The opportunity for growth and continued community partnerships is apparent in Sacramento. Driving in the community, there is an obvious need, and having a welcoming health system and local government may lead to Sacramento being a flagship for the continuum of care provided under NHHA. WPCC is looking very good.
Patrick's visit served as a meaningful reminder of what makes Whole Person Care Clinic successful: thoughtfully designed spaces, dedicated staff, and strong community partnerships working together to provide compassionate, person-centered care.
We are grateful for Patrick's leadership and continued support as we expand our impact throughout Sacramento and beyond. Together, we're building healthier communities and creating pathways to lasting stability for those we serve.
