1. Who is WPCC?
WPCC is a non-profit cultural organization dedicated to promote intercultural dialogue.
It is founded in 2000 by the Turkish community in Pittsburgh. WPCC has been serving
Western Pennsylvania in the area of interfaith dialogue and intercultural understanding.
Through its programs WPCC has brought together hundreds of people from different
communities, ethnic backgrounds and faiths.
2. What are the subsidiaries of WPCC?
WPCC has two subsidiaries: Pittsburgh Dialogue Foundation (PDF) and Snowdrop
Elementary School (SES).
We live in a world today where intercultural and interfaith dialogue are needed
more than ever in our lives. Pittsburgh Dialogue Foundation is founded in 2005

WPCC also opened Snowdrop Elementary School (SES), a private science academy,
in 2005. SES is proud of its diverse student population (representing six different countries),
its family atmosphere and the multicultural environment it offers.
3. What are the main activities?
WPCC offers weekend Turkish language and culture classes, organizes food
festivals and picnic outings. We also observe special days, such as 23 April
International Children’s Day.
4. I would like to take Turkish language classes, can you help?
Currently, Snowdrop Elementary School offers Turkish classes. We can also match
you with one of our Turkish members and you can work with him/her at a more flexible timetable.
5. I would like to visit Turkey; can I get information about Turkey?
We can provide brochures and booklets about Turkey. We encourage you to visit
Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism at http://www.kultur.gov.tr/EN/,
which provides detailed information regarding all aspects of Turkey.

6. We would like to co-organize some events with you, what should we do?
We are open to all organizations that support the dialogue among different cultures
and faiths. As WPPC, we believe that it would be more beneficial to focus on the
similarities among different cultures rather than raising controversial issues.
So WPCC avoids all kinds of political, cultural and religious conflicts.

9. How are your the activities sponsored?
There are several local businesses that support our center. We also have very
hardworking volunteers who help to advertise and organize our events.
10. Do you have any activities specific to children?
We have Turkish classes for children. We also celebrate International
Children’s Day on 23rd of April each year.
